On December 17:
Trista started out at the hotel in SOUTH PORTLAND.
She was en route to MACHIASPORT.
The person driving her lives in or near WATERVILLE. (?)
How did she get from PORTLAND to WATERVILLE? Did that person drive up to Portland, then back past Waterville to get to Machiasport? Or did she meet the person at their home in or near Waterville? Did she take the bus or a train or something to get to Waterville?
Wouldn't the person have had to leave SUPER early to get her in order for them to have made it past Waterville again by the time the police called?
What time are visits at prisons usually scheduled for?

NO one seems to be able to answer whether or not Trista was picked up or met her fiance's father. That is who Jeff said drove her. And he is from Winslow which is the town connected to Waterville. 2 miles away. Winslow is an hour drive to Portand. Either way one of them would have had to get up very early to make the drive.
ReplyDeleteWhat I'm wondering about is did one of Ray's family members abduct Ayla for Trista, and then drove Ayla in the early hours of the morning back to Portland, then taking Trista to Machiasport so as to develop an alibi, never having to go through Waterville at all, therefore potentially covering her backside as a suspect!!!
DeleteI want to add that I heard a while back about an address in NH that was attributed to Trista, although I don't know how valid this *rumor* is. Is it possible that people are looking in the wrong area altogether?
DeleteFACT There is a greyhound bus that leaves Portland at 8:45 pm and arrives in Waterville at 11:05pm at J&S Oil on Kennedy Memorial Drive. J&S Oil is a full gas station, convenience store, and car wash along with the bus stop. It is open 24 hours a day. IMO If she or someone else bought Greyhound ticket with cash in Portland there is no ID required when boarding a bus. Robert or someone could have picked her up there where she would have the whole night to grab Ayla herself knowing the layout of the house and the room Ayla was in. Once she had ayla she could have gone back to one of Ray's relatives houses for the night and left for Machiasport in the morning. She definitely would be tired from the night before if she woke Ayla in the middle of the night she would probably be cranky and not want to go back to sleep.
ReplyDeletejust to clarify, concord trailways is the bus these days and they do require id to purchase a ticket. The ticket is purchased under your name and will show or I guess should show up in the computer records if a subpoena were issued
DeleteThey only require ID to purchase a ticket sometimes. My daughter has purchased tickets many times without showing id . Also they do not check ID went boarding the bus. When my daughter has traveled only the ticket is checked when boarding not id. This is the info on the Greyhound bus site for terminals so it may say Concord on the bus but it is a Greyhound route.

I believe visiting hours were from 1-3. Jessica was informed by police at 10. Trista was informed at 11:30. She was sleeping in the car. Apparently the phone ringing repeatedly did not wake her. Rough night? They then turned around and Jeff says went back to Portland to meet Trista's dad. Right past Waterville. And then back to Waterville.

DeleteDoes anyone else find it strange that Jeff changed that answer after the article came out and people were jumping all over Trista for not going directly to Waterville which was on the way back. Asking why would she have done that? And then Jeff was "like" oh wait that IS what she did. The whole statement before where I said she went to Portland to meet her dad and then went to the Watrerville Police Dept as directed by them. That was wrong.

ReplyDeleteThe hours where Ray is are 1-3 pm sat and sun only...they used to have Thursday evening, but discontinued them. They have to be there an hour early to "reserve" their spots as well.

ReplyDeleteInterstate 95 is the shortest "time wise" to travel. If you use Rt. 3 , You will have to go threw every small town along the way at speeds of 25. 95 interstate is the fastest way. If you wish to detour to sanford , old orchard or springvale you would end up on Rt.3
DeletePortland is 1.5 hours south of Waterville. If someone from Wtvl was taking her to Machiasport, they would either have to drive down to Portland to pick her up, or she'd take a bus or taxi up (no trains go to Wtvl). Machiasport is ENE hours from Wtvl...I'm going to say approximately 3 hours. It is a long ass haul. And if you go from Portland to Machiasport, you can either take the Augusta exit to Route 3 (20 mins. south of Wtvl) or go to Bangor (an hour north of Wtvl) and grab 395 to eastern Maine to get to that area.

DeleteObscure, there is a whole post on this subject on Justice for Ayla, April 16, if you want to look at it, it says that Trista didn't go back to Portland. When she heard that Ayla was missing, she was driven by Ray's father to Waterville. I pasted part of the post : "Trista was on her way to Machiasport with Robert, who is the father of Ray Sr. and grandfather of Ray Jr., he was bringing her to visit Ray. Trista was tired and Robert let her sleep on the long drive to Machiasport. Finally after Trista's phone kept ringing and Robert thought that it might be an emergency, he woke Trista up. It was a phone call from Ronnie Sr. that alerted Trista to Ayla's disappearance. Ronnie Sr. was too distraught to relay the awful news and passed the phone to Frankie to give Trista the phone number of the Waterville PD."

DeleteDid you know that is NOT the way it was first reported. In a story by CBG, who got the details from Jeff, it was stated that she first went back to Portland.
That raised a LOT of questions and concerns, even with her supporters.
Then the story was changed to say that she did go to Waterville first.

Just thinking out loud...what was the deal with the cell phones? Texts were sent from her sister's phone, Ronnie's phone being out of minutes, Ron Sr trying to call...trying to remember. Who's phone did Trista have that day?

DeleteGood point about Ray. LE should definitely talk to Ray Fortier in prison at Machiasport. If Ray knows anything he may be in a talking mood, given that he has seven or eight more years of prison time in front of him, and Trista has not been faithful to him.

ReplyDeleteI'm not judging anything, I remember that there was a whole discussion about it. This is what is said on Justice for Ayla on April 16, I don't know whether it's true or not, but it was later stated by Jeff or somebody else that Trista did not go to Portland. At this point I don't know what to believe or who to believe.
Regarding your last statement, you are definitely not alone in that, Sally. Perhaps that's a downside to having an open mind. It's easier for those with a closed mind, no confusion, they KNOW. They pick a thing and cling to it, shutting out (and sometimes cussing out) the things that conflict with what they "know."

ReplyDelete@Confused, that's what I read the first time. But, things are always changing in their timeline, so it's hard to know what is and isn't fact.
ReplyDeleteSomeone should post a timeline of screenshots of Jeff's timeline to show how often it's been altered. I wish I had had the foresight to do that from the beginning.
DeleteWaterville is approximately exit 126 something (If I remember correctly). Portland is exit 40 something. The exits are by miles you have traveled. So between the two it would be approximately 90 miles. Going the average of 60mph it would be about an hour and half. Having my ex being in prison at one point (big reason he is my ex), I lived near Waterville and he was located at the bottom of Maine...it took about two hours just to see him. Visitation was around 9:30....so if we are to kind of take the same scenario, they would have had to leave around 7:30 to 8am. You would get a more accurate answer by going on the prison's website to see what visiting hours are and then calculating the mileage between Waterville and South Portland. Maybe, her friend slept over?
