My Challenge to YOU...(CLOSED for Comments!!!)

NOTE: The following calls for speculation. If you do not want to speculate, or do not want to read speculation, avoid this post!

We all have our own theories, but I would like to see these very basic questions answered. No matter what you believe, I'd like to see your reasoning, and how you can explain these things. It would be even better if you could incorporate FACTS confirmed by law enforcement; however, I realize we have few facts to work with.

Any takers???

WHO is responsible for Ayla's disappearance?
(suspects or accessories)

WHAT are the circumstances surrounding her disappearance?
(her condition, the situation she was in, kidnapping, injured, etc.)

WHEN was Ayla taken/removed from the DiPietro home?
(date/time)

WHERE is Ayla now?
(location-obviously it won't be specific or she would have already been located)

WHY did she disappear?
(motive)

HOW did Ayla come to be where she is now; how has she been there so long?
(cover-up, police missteps, luck, magic, river flow, weather, etc.)

Those of you who claim to be interested in "justice for Ayla" surely realize that a prosecutor will have to be able answer these questions before a prosecution can even be considered, right? Think Casey Anthony for a moment. She was found not guilty, because prosecutors had no answers for the above questions. They could answer "why", but not much else. Motive is not necessary to prosecute, but it helps jurors grasp the totality of the circumstances. By that same token, motive alone will not prove a case.

I'm looking forward to reading what you all have to say, if you choose to say anything!

  1. Based on just facts? Guess that leaves me out....

Well I think everyone knows what I think, I have it all spelled out somewhere's else...if ya know what I mean...but I am looking forward to reading everyone else's theories!

FWIW, I wish that I could believe that Ayla is hidden out there, somewhere, anywhere...living as happy a life as she can under the circumstances...

So PLEASE, someone post a theory like that we can all get behind!

    1. It DOES NOT have to be fact-based, but I think the best theories are obviously those that are supported by evidence.

Anything goes, because the "facts" as we know them are few...

    2. And my thoughts are the only place you can get these ANSWERS is from the DIPSHITS! Why don't you do a post asking the DIPSHITS specifically what happened to precious Ayla on their watch. . .they are the only ones with the answers and they aren't talking. . .. . now that I find suspicious!

Did you have anything to add to the discussion? Or is name-calling the extent of it???

    5. I say it like I see it. . . It is very obvious to me that you are all just pulling shit out of your ass, it is blatently obvious that whatever happened to beautful Ayla happened in that horror house, I truly believe LE, MSP and the FBI way before I believe any of the crap you are throwing over here. . . I want justice to be had and I wanted the people in that home to speak out for Ayla. . . they know what happened and are the only ones who can tell us where Ayla is. . . making up shit about the Reynolds is just ignorant in my opinion and very childish. . .Trisha's fault in all this is that she isn't perfect. . .thats all. Justin's fault in all this is that he isn't coming clean with authorities so that we can get Ayla home where she belongs. . . THEY ARE DIPSHITS!

    6. The sad thing is...you haven't seen a damn thing, yet you think you know the facts. You only know what you've read & basically been told, based completely on theory & opinion. Nothing is factual, unless you were there to witness it.

    7. Anon 7:52---you say it like you see it, but from what I read your outlook is plain ignorant. Your vision is cloudy, in simple terms. You don't know what happened where, with who, why, or when, or even how---yet I am somehow pulling shit out of my ass? You're doing the same, by your own logic. I have not made ANYTHING up about the Reynolds. Can you say the same? (Think hard: Justin is a drug dealer, Justin is a murderer, Justin was abusive, Justin controlled Trista---all of those things are MADE UP, PULLED OUT OF YOUR ASSES!)

      Thanks.

  2. Well I think this is a very interesting post. It can lead to some very interesting comments. I look forward to reading them.
Since I am more of a facts person, I find it hard to theorise about Ayla's disappearance, since there are so few facts known.

I do feel that she was kidnapped or abducted, and on the night of Dec. 16/17.
Some of that is just intuition. Also I consider things I have seen and read concerning the DiPietro family. I do believe that they very much loved and cared about Ayla.
Also the fact that the 3 persons in the home that night have been interrogated, I'm positive by 3 different LE agancies. More than likely several times. In a missing child case I'm sure they were interrogated by some of the best. These interrogations are intense and extremely tough. (from everything I've read and heard). Yet none of the 3 confessed to any crime or knowledge of what happened to Ayla.
I simply can not and do not believe that they are covering for one another. These are avewrage citizens, and 2 young mothers.

Who took Ayla and to where? I don't have a theory as to that. The list could be long. Whoever had to know the family in some way. Knew that Ayla was there. Probably knew things about the home, and perhaps even sleeping arrangements.

If I get a chance to do that this weekend and the subject hasn't gone past the 200 post, I'll try to get my thoughts down and posted. These are great questions, but I felt I couldn't write up my thoughts in a quicky response. - KJ

  3. I have one. Surely debatable but plausible. I know of a similar incident, in a different location, that is currently being investigated. I draw from that.

    Who- stranger abduction

What- sleeping Ayla, possibly put to bed with her sling on (for various reasons), stranger approaches window from outside.
    1. Window is locked. Stranger gets Ayla's attention to assist in
    opening the window.
    2. Window is unlocked/open. Stranger gets Ayla's attention and
calls her to come to the open window.
Stranger abducts Ayla through the window from the outside not leaving evidence inside of the house. If dogs were scenting by the shed from a smell that was inside the room(window), the stranger could be hiding in that area while waiting.

When: Dec 16. Late night/early morning.

Where: Can't answer this with anything factually supported. Unfortunately almost any alternative is possible in this scenario.

Why: Caused the world has some screwed up people in it.

How: I believe there are many faults in the how. I think LE has been so hell bent on the paternal side's guilt that they may have failed to wholly look at other options. I believe the fact that the maternal side started throwing stones right away instead of joining forces in the beginning (this may have happened, but I didn't see it). I think the paternal side could be more open, however if I was accused of being a murderer, I might work behind the scenes too. I'm sure there are lots of other hows as well.

I know this doesn't include the blood and the LIP. I just think that without ALL of the knowledge about those pieces, I wouldn't know how to fit them in. Plus like I said, I am pulling from a different incident that is similar.

    1. The only reason I am hesitant on an abduction is because Ayla went missing in December. I'm assuming that it snows in Maine. Would there not have been footprints left in the snow? I apologize if this has already been covered but it's something that really irks me.

    2. @anonymouth - we had no snow to speak of at that time, it was a very mild winter

  4. I'm sorry DMay, but do you have any knowledge of 20 month olds? I have one. The idea that Ayla could wake up, see a total stranger outside her window, climb out of her crib with a sling on her broken arm and open the window; and then willingly leave with said stranger without making a peep is completely implausible. Sorry. No way.

    Replies
    1. Unless it was POGAMAN who was outside the window. . .he/she seems to know Ayla quite well. . . .

      Delete
    2. Yes I do. I would not think so either, had I not just been made aware of such an incident. My understanding is that her arm was healing and probably usable. Many 20 month olds (if not already in a toddler bed) are able to climb out of a crib. If you've ever woken with a toddler at the foot of your bed, you understand just how quiet that act can be. Some kids are unusually comfortable with strangers. I am definitely not trying to put out there that I have any idea what happened to Ayla, this is merely a thought based on a situation my friend is currently dealing with. A stranger came to her daughter's window and the only reason the little girl cried was because she couldn't get the window open. In a short span of time, Ayla's family situation changed and I'm sure she was used to seeing new faces. It may not be likely, but not completely implausible.

      Delete
    3. DMay,

I think your theory is just as plausible as any other theory. If the person standing at the window was someone she knew, I'd be more inclined to go with that.

My own child is (dangerously) unusually comfortable with strangers. The kid fears almost nothing; that's a blessing and a curse.

      Thank you for sharing!

      Delete
    4. @Anonymous 15:59 - pogamen didn't need to have a window unlocked, or opened, to visit Ayla.

@DMay, you have good points, and not everything has to do with a missing child. You do not overestimate the ability of a toddler to slip right through a parent's protective grasp. It happens every day, and I point the finger at all the mixed messages we feed children. Share, be polite, be quiet, don't bother me, sooner or later you're gonna have to do this yourself, wait for me...

That's not Ayla. She knew the stakes. She knew why Jude was there. She knew why I was there. She knew why each (invisible) individual was there, and who they were. There was nobody at the window. At least, nobody that lived to talk about it. If someone is missing because of that - oh, well.

DMAY- you are assuming that the person from the OUTSIDE, knew where she was sleeping that night.how would they know which window to go to in the dark? according to the dipietros, she wasnt in her NORMAL room, ie hers and gabbys, but she was in Phoebe's room. so the abductor would have to know that. did phoebe know ayla was sleeping in her room that night? the abductor would also have to know that justin was moving his bed that night and driving to portland. did phoebe know that? did she remove ayla from her room AFTER justin put her to bed, while he was in portland? did justin stay at the house after he dropped his bed off or go out for the night? did he assume ayla was sleeping since she wasnt making a peep? why did phoebe plan to stay at another location that particular night?where is this baby?

I want to know if phoebe took a poly.she lied on cnn. first she was there and then she wasnt. I think she WAS there briefly, but was NOT there for the entire evening.

I think she moved ayla to a safehouse because she didnt want her going back to trista.phoebe hasnt told selena because selena may have loose lips. elisha knows.she and her mom planned it last minute. lance and courtney were told later. justin was told the morning after she was taken out of the house, right before he had to call 911.

I think justin did in fact find out about trista filing through mutual friends or her brother ronny who was friendly with justin and stuck up for him in the debate over whether justin kidnapped ayla or trista asked him to take care of her.ronnie says she asked justin for his help.

when justin said in the press'you have no right, youre not her parent' he was speaking to his mom. when justin asked for immunity, he was asking for it for his mom. when justin said, all will be revealed when the time is right, he meant AFTER they gave his mom immunity. I think phoebe thought she was doing the right thing, saving ayla from an illiterate, drunken ,drug addict , going nowhere mother, but it went to far and now she is afraid to come forward with the truth. mom knows best , right. and even after everyone thinks he slaughtered the baby she still wont speak, well unless it's through her protective mouth piece , her attorney. the attorney to protect her and elisha. must be facing some serious charges to hire a lawyer like that IF someone else supposedly snatched your grandbaby...........hmmmmmmmmm

look to the states where they did NOT place a billboard.
look to friends or relatives of connie disanto ........

    6. In the case I was referring to, the stranger didn't even know for sure that a child lived there (I'm assuming since he hit multiple places in a short period). It appears that it was random houses. IF there was an abduction, it could just as well been a complete stranger. Definitely not arguing that this is what happened, but it would explain the lack of evidence in the house.

Your facts are all incorrect. Justin was not in Portland that night. And Ayla was not sleeping in Phoebe's bedroom. Not "according to the Dipieto's" and not according to anyone. Ayla was sleeping in her own bedroom. And LE knows where Phoebe was that night.

  6. WHO: someone close to Trista, with or without Trista (I believe with her).

WHAT are the circumstances surrounding her disappearance? Taken from her home...no injury. She willingly went without a fight since she knew her abductor(s).

WHEN: the night Justin said it happened (12/16-17)

WHERE is Ayla now? Hidden somewhere, with someone Trista trusts completely who also loves Ayla.

WHY did she disappear? To keep Justin from getting full custody & because Trista feared losing custody of her completely since Ayla had a stable home/support with Justin.

HOW did Ayla come to be where she is now; how has she been there so long? I think Trista knew the house enough to know she could at least attempt to get Ayla, even if it didn't work. After all, Trista knew Justin was worried she could come anytime to get Ayla. Why not try? If she succeeded, it would be a bonus. If she failed, she would just use it as a confrontation, and be able to possibly see her daughter.

I think the police made way too many assumptions from the get-go, along with Trista's family swaying public opinion. The person who has her lives in a remote area where they are secluded & have the ability to live unnoticed. Where I live, one could easily get away with that. You'd just need someone to do grocery/supply shopping for you. She could play outside & live a normal life undetected. Even her mother could come visit easily.

My theory is in agreement with yours.

I believe Trista had the motive. I think there is a lot more to this story concerning Trista and DHHS. Why didn't Trista file for custody after Justin didn't return Ayla, as he was supposedly ordered to. Why wait 2 months. Would she not be suspect "if she showed she was trying to get her daughter back the legal way"?

I don't think Trista could go to rehab for 10 days and then get Ayla back. Remember, Jessica supposedly had a lawyer present at the meeting.

I believe Jessica played a big part in persuading Trista that she had to do something. I think the woman is very angry and feels wronged by DHHS. She is not going to trust DHHS, the Court system, any authorities. Is she willing to take the law into her own hands?

Trista's words and actions are not that of a mother who is desperate to find her missing child. She is too determined to make Justin out to be a murderer.

No facts, just all my opinion.

    2. Agreed.

I can't help but point out AGAIN, that Jeffrey told the media he would be releasing the files from DHHS. He never did, and has not spoken another word about them.

My guess? The files are more damaging to TRISTA than they are to Justin. I don't believe she ever alerted authorities to any type of abuse that she is now accusing Justin of, but I believe there were many allegations against her. DHHS doesn't get involved without cause and start throwing out ultimatums. No way, no how.

Trista is, at the very least, lying about the extent of her involvement with DHHS.

  7. I think it is very possible Ayla was taken to avoid a custody battle. By someone in the Dipietro home. They feel she is just as much a part of their family and did not want Trista to take her away from them. They could have felt she was unfit but afraid it could not be proven in court.I feel this could also be the reason for the plea of immunity if Ayla was left at a hospital or other place with no questions asked.I feel they have someone taking care of Ayla in possible another state waiting to bring her back when the time is right. I think things have just gotten out of control and they don't know which way to turn, and they feel it has been to long to just bring her back. All the things I have said here could be reversed to the Reynolds side. I would just like to have someone with a real important name like a former president or someone that could make a plea to whom ever has her to just give her back no questions asked, and be able to guarantee no prosecution. I prefer this scenario to a dead Ayla. No facts just a feeling sorry.

    1. I do think the custody battle is central to this case.

I don't think the DiPietros have any reason to hide Ayla, custody was pointing in their favor. Trista was homeless, an alcoholic, and fighting in the streets with her sister. She probably already had DHHS involved in her life, so Justin would have been sitting pretty when it came to getting custody IMO.

  8. Ok, I'll bite. Justin DiPietro is a sociopath. He always been, ever since he was a little boy. He gets what he wants, always.

Trista is a weak, bipolar, alcoholic borderline personality disordered young woman from a very bad family.

They hook up one night and Trista says, yeah, I'm on the pill, it'll be fine, liar that she is. Justin buys it, Ayla is produced. She tries to use Ayla as leverage, but Justin isn't buying that, so, he says "Get rid of it." He maybe even gave her some money to do it with, but deluded Trista starts to think maybe she can be a mother and maybe "Mr. Wonderful" would see things differently.

So, she cleans up her act and has a beautiful baby girl and she starts sending Justin father's days cards, and dropping by his apartment to see him and heck, they even hooked up a few times but Justin still wasn't buying what Trista was selling.

He was dating Courtney Reynolds, a young, intelligent mother who had a good work ethic and was studying hard to make a better life for her and her young son, who is her life. This has become painfully clear to me now. Unfortunately, she too is under the spell this psychopath can spin.

If you don't believe that a psychopath can fool this many obviously intelligent, well respected people, then you need to read up on Ted Bundy.

Anyways, things are going good with Courtney, because her family has some good connections. So did Trista's by the way. Justin always knows an opportunity when he sees one. Jeff even taught him a few tricks, didn't you Jeff? Yeah, that Justin, he's quite the fellow!

Have any of you ever noticed how NO ONE (besides the Tudelas and Angela Harry) has come out in defense of Justin DiPietro?

Not one ex-boss, or friend, classmate, teacher, no one. Nothing.

Doesn't that strike you as odd?

Unless you count his anonymous cheerleaders here. They say he is busy behind the scenes working hard for Ayla. I bet you are, aren't you Doc?

Meanwhile back at the ranch things have calmed down because Trista has taken up with another loser and gotten off Justin's back but uh oh! Ray didn't get found guilty and off to prison he goes. Now Trista is stuck with two unwanted children.

She turns her eyes back to Justin. She files for TANF, names him and Ray as possible fathers.

And you know Justin, he isn't going to let anyone tell him what to do. So he starts hatching a plan, and he waited for his opportunity. When Trista went to detox, it was the perfect time. Of course he was hurting her all this time, he didn't give a flying flip about the kid. She was just a means to an end.

He probably convinced Trista that he was giving Ayla away. He didn't count on LE finding the blood.

    So there you have it.

    What's next Doc?

      How can you say this?

"Ok, I'll bite. Justin DiPietro is a sociopath. He always been, ever since he was a little boy. He gets what he wants, always."

One thing I can tell you is...dont use what is out here on the blogs to base your characterizations, please.

Example: On SA someone came on and said that Justin, as a kid, had a doberman that he set on other children ...Justin never had a dog as a child...So that tosses crap like that out the window! That was said by someone "who was chased" by that doberman.Phoebe's kids were never "spoiled".As I said before...Justin had a paper route and worked for the things he had as a youth...

Here's the think think think...I could have said something about the furry boots.Phoebe in furry boots makes me laugh....she wouldnt be caught dead in furry boots.Phoebe isnt a frilly girlie girl.
Phoebe as mom and grammy would be in your face with legal crap...not baby stealing. They were going after AYLA full tilt legal...part of the reason LE was called instead of busting down doors...She wouldnt condone going about getting AYLA any other way.She crunches numbers for the state...why give up a career that will pay her old lady pensions? Not happening. I would bet she was the one that advised Justin to call Lewiston PD to help go get AYLA so there wouldnt be any problems...Make sense? Another thought...Paternal family may not be wealthy but has worked hard all their lives and have a lot to lose if things are not done legally...tell me what is to "lose" for the maternal side? One side uses the law...the other side hides from or struggles with it.Just things to think about when theories are put together.

    5. This has been brought up on the "other" blog, why hasn't anyone spoken for Justin, teachers, preachers (fathers/priests more likely), etc. etc., anyone who knew Justin.

I would like to ask, who has come out in Trista's defense? Becca spoke once and everytime we have seen her since, is lurking in the background. Jessica, I believe, may have spoken twice, then she disappeared. Ronnie (Trista's father) spoke a lot at the beginning. He seemed very distraught, but then he became silent, as if he were told something to ease his pain. He can't even squeeze out a tear anymore, he just hides his face and makes you think he is crying. Which brings up, why the need to stage the reaction to LE's announcement that they believe Ayla is dead. (Anyway, these are all family members.)

Point being, why is this necessary for one side, but not the other?

Now, one CANNOT be a sociopath unless certain criteria is met. You throw the term around loosely, and it's quite obvious that you don't really know what you are saying. DSM-IV, I'm sure you've heard of it? I mean, if you are going to be throwing out a person's diagnosis, you should at least know the feature of it right?

We know next to nothing about Justin as a person---and Grace herself said as much---so how are we able to leap to the conclusion that he is a sociopath?

We don't know how he acted as a child, because as Grace said, we haven't heard from ex-teachers, friends, etc. Yet we are able to conclude that he is a sociopath?

      Nope.

Many of Justin's friends and family can be seen standing up for him. Just because you do not happen to know the name of all his friends and associates does not make it not true. And while we are on the subject let's just add that his friends are not out there doing so by bashing Trista or being rude and vulgar in the process. I believe the friends you choose and people you surround yourself with in life speaks volumes about yourself. Take a good look at who Trista surrounds herself with.

    14. Selena and Derek have stood up for him here. They get bashed in the process. It seems to me many people who know him stand up for him, and some that do so online do it anonymously - perhaps to avoid what Selena and Derek have been through.

Thank you, Katie, for having that same courage. I'm acquainted with Derek & Darrell through business dealings, but little beyond that, and their stance has only made me respect them more. And he did it while his girlfriend and sister were at home so clever. Never once thinking huh I could just make this look like an accident and here are my witnesses or if it is about not wanting responsibility I could just give her back. Obviously they have made it very clear they would have taken her and let him sign off his rights. But no you are right this was a much smarter plan on his part. Now he can live such a stress free life with all that money! So smart. Anyone see something wrong with this picture? Anyone?

  10. I have no idea what happened. I do have a couple of questions for Selena or Phoebe if they are able or willing to answer.

    1) Was Ayla put to bed wearing her sling because of medical advice or was the sling taken with her, implying someone with knowledge of her condition was the culprit?

    2) In Angela Harry's account, she writes that Ayla was taken "in the middle of the night." Was this simply a generalization or does the family believe there was a narrow window of opportunity in which the abduction occurred?

    3) The earliest reports state that Ayla was put to bed at 8 PM and checked on at 10 PM. Was this when Elisha took Gabby to bed with her?

    4) A police spokesman was quoted as saying that Ayla was not in the room where she normally slept. Was that correct? Was Ayla in the bedroom she shared with Gabby and was that the usual arrangement?

    5) Upon discovering that Ayla was missing, were the doors found to be locked? Does the family believe that a window was the point of entry and/or exit?

    1. Just because I see this mistake often, I want to say it wasn't a sling Ayla had for her arm. It was a soft cast.

I'm sorry, but you are being rather ridiculous here! How can someone know the exact time Ayla was taken? You are being very petty, and why do you believe AH? Ayla was taken sometime during the time they last checked on her and when they awoke and found her missing.

Why does it matter if the 10:00 check was when Elisha took Gabby to bed with her? What does that have to do with Ayla missing?

Could you please give a link where it states that Ayla was not in the room she normally slept?

I didn't say whether I believed AH or not, I stated what she wrote. If you read what I wrote, you know I never said anything about an exact time. I said window of opportunity. Maybe someone in the family or a neighbor heard something that they later thought could be relevant. Isn't the time someone was last seen and by whom always relevant in a missing person case? I don't know what happened to Ayla. I've had many varying thoughts since December. At this point I'd say I'm about even 1/3 neither Justin nor Trista knows, 1/3 Justin knows, Trista doesn't, 1/3 Trista knows, Justin doesn't. There are a number of things that could have happened within each of the 3 possibilities. I'll share some thoughts as time and energy allows. Going with one stated previously first.

WHO is responsible for Ayla's disappearance?
    (suspects or accessories)

    - Trista takes Ayla back, Jessica is an alibi, Ayla is taken to friends or relatives of the Fortiers

WHAT are the circumstances surrounding her disappearance?
(her condition, the situation she was in, kidnapping, injured, etc.)

She was happy to see her mom, but now Trista is unable to communicate with whoever has her because LE monitors calls. Trista doesn't know how Ayla is doing or if she's ok.

WHEN was Ayla taken/removed from the DiPietro home?
    (date/time)

    early morning the 17th

    WHERE is Ayla now?
(location-obviously it won't be specific or she would have already been located)

somewhere between Waterville and Machiasport initially, perhaps moved further away since then

    WHY did she disappear?
    (motive)

Trista was afraid that Justin would get full custody of Ayla.

HOW did Ayla come to be where she is now; how has she been there so long?
(cover-up, police missteps, luck, magic, river flow, weather, etc.)

LE didn't pull Trista over in the car she was riding in, they waited for her to show up there. They didn't check the car. They didn't confiscate their phone(s) or get their phone pings from the provider

      I agree.

The Fortiers may be involved. I think Ray (in prison) may have helped Trista.

I think Jessica had a big part in it. Justin said, "You are not her parent". If Jessica had a daughter (Olivia?) taken away from her, I think she became obsessed with Ayla. It appears she was quite involved in Ayla's life.

I've wondered if Trista has seen Ayla since she disappeared? Her demeanor suggests that to me.

Trista had to have known she wasn't getting Ayla back anytime soon (court case, etc), and was she sure she could get Ayla back? Did she anticipate Justin calling the police?

The end of your comment, I agree, LE screwed up.

      I should have added

FACTS: Trista initially lied regarding her whereabouts. 3 or 4 months into it we are told that she was enroute to Machiasport that morning. It took 2 hours for her family to reach her on the cell. Becca Hanson's first reported statement "DHHS has always had it out for our family." Trista and Becca were unable to complete their polygraphs. Ray Fortier helped name Ayla. The Fortiers have had problems with the law. Trista has had problems with drugs, alcohol, mental illness, and DHHS. Any of these things can affect judgement. Trista has expressed how much she missed Ayla, having not seen her since 11/21 and not talked to her since 12/8. As someone pointed out, the language of statements released by the Reynolds sounds more like a custody dispute than a missing child case.

    6. Space,

I looked over the Nancy Grace interview transcript. I see where Trista says:

"The night that my daughter went missing, I was at the Maine motel in South Portland." (BBM)

It was the next morning that Trista and Robert (Ray Fortier's father) drove to Machiasport, where during the trip, Trista was called by Ronnie, but told by Frankie, that Ayla was missing. According to J4A, via, I'm assuming, Jeff Hanson.

I don't see this as a lie. She spent the night at the Maine Motel. She left the Maine Motel that next morning to drive to Machiasport to visit Ray. Two different statements for two different time frames.

Does anyone recall hearing if Robert was poly'd?

      Delete
    7. selena- I believe it was tristas attorney, but the wording made it sound like it was jessica's.

jessica has no kids so no legal aid available to her, and she sure cant afford a lawyer. so it was tristas legal aid or appointed dhhs atty. maybe pine tree legal aid provided one for her.

    8. the space between8/21/12, 11:00 AM

Anon - Trista apparently actually answered what she was doing in the time frame before Ayla disappeared - the point with Nancy Grace, via Trista's answer Nancy said she was nowhere near Waterville when her baby went missing, and that was the premise that everyone was allowed to believe for months. We don't know what time Trista left the motel, if she was even there, 8pm? 3 am? No idea. We also don't know what time Ayla went missing - sometime between 10pm and 8am. Where was Trista between 10pm the 16th and 8 am the 17th when Ayla disappeared? It doesn't matter if she was at the motel at 7pm on the 16th. I'm not sure I'm explaining this clearly. Is avoiding telling the truth also a lie? We didn't hear a word about the Fortiers until a few months ago. I haven't heard anything about Robert taking a poly, or his car or cellphone being checked.

      Delete
    9. @Word Up---TRISTA'S timeline, which SHE contributed to and released CLEARLY states Jessica's attorney. Is there something wrong with Trista that would make her confuse herself with Jessica? (Don't answer that, it's a trick question)

      Delete
    10. @word up - "jessica has no kids so no legal aid available to her"

      Who is Olivia's parent?

      AND
I agree that the wording was questionable. The atty appearance might have been for Trista, but the atty also previously represented Jessica and children?

@Selena, you made a fantastic point - thanks, but no thanks. Read between the lines to look at why this case quickly became a custody battle, rather than a missing child case. Resources, DHHS and legal, are tightly defined and dispensed. In the past, I've checked out some of this 'definition stuff' for young people. The rules haven't been changed or altered so much as turned upside-down, backwards, and inside out. Further study of a few of these found the regulation wording was in error (that's not what they meant) and would not be corrected because of expense (everyone should know what we meant). I'll tell ya, I think our lawmakers are a product of a foreign school system. I can cite unending examples of what I found that explain why a loving mother stayed with a physically abusive father, rather than filing for divorce. Off my soapbox...

WHO is responsible for Ayla's disappearance?
    (suspects or accessories)

    - someone who had visited the home
    OR
    - Courtney Roberts

WHAT are the circumstances surrounding her disappearance?
(her condition, the situation she was in, kidnapping, injured, etc.)

    She left the home safe.

WHEN was Ayla taken/removed from the DiPietro home?
    (date/time)

    early morning the 17th

    WHERE is Ayla now?
(location-obviously it won't be specific or she would have already been located)

depends on who took Ayla and his/her motive

    WHY did she disappear?
    (motive)

outsider: had been in the house before and seen Ayla, and felt drawn to her - or had contempt for Justin and/or Trista
Courtney: tired of Trista's relentless antics, knowing Justin wanted to get custody, perhaps learned of the indiscretion, had been cheated on before

HOW did Ayla come to be where she is now; how has she been there so long?
(cover-up, police missteps, luck, magic, river flow, weather, etc.)

    outsider: took Ayla by vehicle
Courtney: took Ayla by vehicle or gave her to someone else after everyone went to sleep

Facts: no evidence of an unknown person being in the house, LE's statement that one or more of the people in the home or associated with the home know more than they are telling, Courtney's refusal to take a poly.

Note: I believe that one or more of the DiPietros would have figured it out by now if it was Courtney.

  15. I consider this blog as support for the innocence of the three in the house the night Ayla disappeared. The only reason I have supported their innocence is because I cannot accept and believe that three people could keep a lie together. I cannot accept two young mothers could watch a child die, do nothing and keep quiet about it. Yet, I can't come up with a theory or motive that points to an abduction of Ayla (dead or alive).

At the risk of getting harsh criticism from the group here. I will say what I think happened, as much as I don't want to believe it myself.

I think that Ayla fell down the basement stairs and hit her head, resulting in a rather large gash somewhere that produced blood. Justin and Courtney should have called for 911 right away, but they didn't because they didn't want to deal with all the issues that result when a baby is taken to the ER injured. They waited too long, and Ayla died. Now they really didn't want to get LE or medical help involved for obvious reasons. Courtney helped Justin get Ayla out of the house. How? I don't know and don't want to think about it. Justin took Ayla somewhere. I have my ideas, but again do we really need to think about gross stuff like this. Courtney stayed behind and cleaned up. Courtney continues to support Justin because she knows it was really an accident and also because she loves Justin.

Elisha I think may have slept through the whole ordeal. A baby falling down the steps wouldn't have made that much noise. It is possible that even Phoebe doesn't know what happened.

Accidental death of children is covered up a lot by people. Why, I don't know. I think it would be far easier for the person to just admit what happened and get it over with.

    3. @Bystander
A rather large head gash would most likely produce quite a bit of blood. Head injuries bleed a lot. And it is likely there would be more evidence left from that kind of fall and injury. LE went through that home with a fine tooth comb for several weeks. It would require quite a bit of cleaning, scrubbing, getting rid of clothes perhaps, evidence and then Ayla. And then back home to act as though nothing went wrong. That is a lot to accomplish in a nights work. And be quiet, not wake the neighbors, your sister, the other babies in the house and convince your sane girlfriend to go along with you. And then keep calm and cool around your friends, family and LE all this time. IDK I know there are crazy people out there in the world but I think when you look back there are usually signs that yes they were crazy. Or at some point they started to break. And I think the fact that there were so many people in the house makes it way less likely. Sorry but not really because I believe Ayla is alive.

WHO is responsible for Ayla's disappearance?

    Justin (with/without Courtney and/or Phoebe and/or Elisha)

WHAT are the circumstances surrounding her disappearance?
(her condition, the situation she was in, kidnapping, injured, etc.)

Ayla was left alone in the house, woke up, went to look for daddy, fell down the stairs. When someone returned she was found.
    OR
Justin tripped down the stairs carrying Ayla.

WHEN was Ayla taken/removed from the DiPietro home?
    (date/time)

    the 16th

    WHERE is Ayla now?
(location-obviously it won't be specific or she would have already been located)

    "laid to rest"

    WHY did she disappear?
    (motive)

accidental/neglect - covered for fear of charges, losing other children

HOW did Ayla come to be where she is now; how has she been there so long?
(cover-up, police missteps, luck, magic, river flow, weather, etc.)

the more people that know the harder it would be to maintain - Ayla was laid to rest in a different location than some of her items were placed

Facts: no evidence of an unknown person being in the house, LE's statement that one or more of the people in the home or associated with the home know more than they are telling, questionable polygraph results, "some" of Ayla's blood in the basement, broken baby gate, questionable about who was where and when/who was watching Ayla

Note: These were my first instincts about the case, which have changed since I started following on line. One reason, I believe that someone would have the foresight to know how much worse things would be to cover up than to just report what happened and deal with whatever consequences.

Don't you love it when the police would like to have public awareness, but fail to say anything other than 'this child is missing' and 'if you see her, please call'.

Here's a big, fat, red flag for everyone thinking Trista has seen Ayla since 12/16... I speculate that it's impossible to arrange a meeting without LE knowing through travel arrangements or electronic communication of some type.

Some things are better left not-revealed to avoid incrimination, but I don't see that as being a factor for the DiPietro family.

And here's the torreador's red cape... some things are better left not-revealed to avoid incriminating community members of completely unrelated misdeeds. I know, now I sound like a lunatic, right?

[My inner birdman is telling me -> Why didn't you just say that in the first place? Why did you tell these people about us?]

@Selena - We all know Phoebe wasn't there that night. Why not Justin? We don't want to hear what he has to say about Trista; it's not like TV or media interviews. Regardless, you know I value your input and Phoebe's time, too. You, Phoebe and I must talk some day, when all of this is resolved.

My thoughts on Trista seeing Ayla after 12/16.

I think there is a period of time where LE did not have Trista on their "radar", and she could have very well been visiting with Ayla. Are they watching her now? I don't know, but I hope so. There are also "disposable" phones, you can buy them at Wal-Mart. They can't be traced, because they are not under anyone's name.

    7. I agree and I believe the very first day after Ayla went missing Trista was not on their "radar". LE was very busy searching the paternal home and surrounding area for clues. Enough time for a panicked Trista to hide Ayla? I believe so.

    8. @getrealpeople, S., anonymous 20:08: good points and accurate on timing of LE involvement. Feds have toys, but they weren't involved immediately. And I recall seeing what happened [untoward] with Trista on several instances on 12/17 and soon after. We're speculating here, and this is nothing I include in a statement of any value due to it's nature. Anything I see that heavily relies on emotion, facial expression, incomplete thoughts, and similar impressions gets pulled out of the equation and sits just this side of the (mental delete) trash can.

12/17, Trista wakes up in a vehicle, having suffered through her most repetitive nightmare that consistently concludes seeing the sunrise over a mowed hill of grass, a large tree, and a song bird chirping while flying from the tree. Only this day, the sun began to rise and her happy ending was disrupted by family members knocking on the window to wake her up. Her cell phone was vibrating (underneath her), and suddenly her eyes grew wide and she quickly raised up to check what she was sleeping on. It was a box of donuts. I speculate that she thought she was on Ayla, and they really took her from the house. Ayla wasn't there. Did anybody find out what Lilly's mother's first name is? Have police talked to Fortier's father? Oh, I don't know where the donuts came from. I knew, but I forgot.

There's a few more of these instances that hang on for some reason. Anybody want to hear them, since this is speculation?

    11. LucifersHand, thank you. I am so terrible at remembering names, but that is it, alright. That's why I use people's initials to remember their names. She told me I could call her J or JJ or Jess, but not Jessica. The Parker name came up in discussion; I asked what does this have to do with my grandmother? It was her maiden name. You would think I would remember that - but no. I need to reaffix my jaw and go to work. I don't know how to thank you enough.

    12. @CUL8TR, with name confirmation of Jess Parker, I had to move the pile away from the mental trash can. Now I see why those memories were so stubborn. LE said Jessica was at the motel, and I thought there was only one Jessica. I looked at the photo of Dove Day, and that Jessica is not the woman I saw.

More than speculation -> [untoward] I believe Jess Parker was with Trista (and Robert Fortier) during the early A.M. of 12/17, in a white car belonging to Robert F.; and the three of them went to Ayla's home appr. 3am. Jess and Trista entered the home, went to Ayla and Gabbie's room, Trista checked the crib and found no child. Next, Trista checked the bed (no child) and knew (only the way a mother would know) that her daughter had been in that bed and something bad happened. She knew, and could have stopped the timeclock right there. Jess was wearing a man's business suit jacket and hat so they would appear at night as a man, woman and child. Jess and Trista left the house to find that Robert and the car were stuck because of a heavy fog. They were stuck there for quite some time. Everyone was careful not to slam doors. The car backfired and Robert said it was probably from a dirty sparkplug.
The reason for their attempt to take Ayla is another story.

I already mentioned this: Ayla was already gone when Trista got there.

  20. I have a potential theory...

I find it curious that Trista would be passing so close to Waterville the morning Ayla went missing. With Trista regularly being strung out and her memory somewhat weathered, I find it possible that someone else could suggest that she should see her fiance in prison and her then internalizing it as her own thought. The person who made the suggestion then arranges for an abduction to take place on that particular night/early morning of Trista's travel. All bases seem covered - everybody has an alibi. Besides, I imagine police would have checked tolls, petrol receipts, security cameras for Trista's story to gel.

The only person who it would seem to point to would be Jessica, and she's had many nights of laying there probably trying to figure out how to get her own children back - perhaps an attachment developed when Trista had Ayla - I don't know.

I do think that its possible that Trista was kept busy so that she wouldn't be aware of a family member, or even one of the fortiers being involved in Ayla's disappearance.

The potentialities are far too great though to be 110% certain of any theory.

    1. LucifersHand, you have a highness test, too? I gotta get my own highness test. 110% certain of any theory? Right now, 10% would be worthy of inspection! Jest teasing <- you know it.

There's more than guessing in some of your speculation, based on my speculation. Hypothetical -> What's left when you assume that Ayla disappeared before they arrived at the house, and you remove ALL of Trista and gang's shenanigans (sp?) from the scenario?

I don't want to leave anyone in suspense about it. This is what's left... The adult occupants have not told us everything.

Ah. The family has exhausted their info pile. LE has the answers already, and now they must speak to people (other than Binocular Bob).

    2. @LucifersHand

I have to think the trip to visit Ray was already planned since it involved her future father-in-law. But, maybe Trista wanted to back out the last minute, and Jessica talked her into going. I agree with your thoughts about Jessica (see my comments earlier).

I like your theory, but I have more questions!

Why was LE not interested with where Trista was? Trista, apparently, was allowed several hours of being missing (no one could communicate with her).

My questions: Did anyone tell LE where Trista was? If so, did they look into it? If they said they didn't know where Trista was, wouldn't that be a huge red flag?

It seems the parents are checked out first in missing child cases.

So, why was Trista's alibi allowed to slip through the cracks, and hours later she arrived at the Waterville Police Department. Maybe it didn't, but at the time, it appeared LE did not think Trista was a suspect. Trista even said on national TV, that she was at a motel in S. Portland. Why didn't she say she went to visit her fiance that morning?

      signed:getrealpeople

    3. @pogamen - lol I do have a highness test but seeing as I'm not LE its rendered useless and only holds so much validity here. I do agree however that LE should check all that crosses their path. LE should also have a highness test regarding the information they settle for, it should be tangible and solid rather than based on second rate investigative skills and biased feelings.

@getrealpeople - I just want to say that this theory is just an idea and doesn't reflect what I believe.

Regarding the theory, I think if Jessica were to convince Trista to see Ray, Trista would have some suspicion with Ayla being gone and in a drunken moment would've said something to somebody. I do feel that trust in this family is a huge issue and has the potential for Trista to be manipulated without her necessarily realizing it as she would be used to feeling betrayed and neglected.

Its possible that police knew from the start where Trista was and was able to verify it but neither felt obliged to inform the public. Besides, I think Trista felt far more comfortable with the public eyeing Justin for Ayla's disappearance. It becomes harder to prove any wrong-doing when her alibi is Jessica and Ray's father and Jessica's alibi is similarly set up.

Its hard to say how it would've been investigated and if they looked at other possibilities. I heard LE checked the hotel room to see if Ayla was there, but if it were me, I would've had forensics go through with a fine tooth comb, then I would've been able to definitively cross it off my list .

Assuming for a moment that Trista didn't tell LE of her movements (maybe she was advised by a family member to lie because she would look guilty), I agree that it would be a huge red flag and LE would be completely ignorant not to check that kind of lead out. Perhaps LE also wanted Trista to have a sense of comfort with them and made it appear that her whereabouts went unnoticed, but that would be naive for anyone to believe. I have also wondered if Trista amplifies her unreliable/untrustworthy persona as it then makes her look less likely to be able to pull off a crime such as this.

Trista they say didnt know till almost an hour later. I cant remember the times now...but could look at notes to check. I know that Jessica had plenty of time to tell Trista whats up...but burnboys daddy said he had to wake Trista to get her to answer the phone...maybe she wasnt all that excited to see burnboy...maybe she had a hard night....maybe it was a way to not have uncomfortable conversation with Burnboys daddy...maybe its just a way to lengthen a window....who knows?

  23. I cannot speculate...I'm a fact-based gal.

But I will say this...I had the DiPietros in my crosshairs...blood, LIP, and the fact that Ayla disappeared on their watch.

Today, I'm not so sure. Things got pretty strange over at the Reynolds' camp (U4A) these past couple of months, and it has eroded my credibility in Trista.

I don't believe Trista harmed Ayla. But I believe she *could* be involved or at least have knowledge on what became of her daughter.

I see nothing wrong with "blog-shopping." I don't like all things said on all blogs, and I am not a "card-carrying" member to ANY Ayla blog. I do enjoy certain posters (MIM here, especially). Those that are willing to weigh in with an intelligent opinion will grab my attention and admiration.

I also believe it possible that LE made errors in handling this case. That opinion is not universally accepted at U4A.

I'm not nuts about this blog, but I HAVE gleaned very interesting information here.

As one poster on U4A astutely acknowledged...what is said here (JSTL) could have value, and what is said on opposing blogs could have value. If you pledge to a particular blog, you are biased. I don't pledge to blogs. My pledge is to Ayla.

This isn't about the Hatfields and McCoys. Trista vs. Justin. U4A vs. JSTL. It is about getting answers for Ayla.

I get the blood, LIP, and possession of the child. Is there anything else?

A fact-based scenario is the same as speculation, or hypothesis. What (how many) points do you see with value now?

I have to say that when you write about the virtues of an unbiased blog/administrator, you are preaching to the choir on this blog. Obscure keeps an open dialogue.

  25. Who- Trista or family member. Brother Ronnie, Becca, Jessica
The problem is that their are so many people connected to Trista capable/willing to "bend" the rules. Maybe the Fortiers. What I do believe is that Trista does know Ayla was taken from home and by who.

How- Someone knew the layout. Either had been there or was told it. Walked in front door and down short hall and handed Ayla out her window so they would not have to carry her back through the house.

Where- With someone trusted. Who now is in so deep that they can not turn back. She could be anywhere. At this point it is easy enough to keep her hidden and meet her needs. And hope that eventually she will change in looks enough that no one will recognize her maybe?

Motive- Custody, Anger, greed, mental instability, fear of the system all things displayed by Trista's family.

Facts- Trista did not have physical custody of Ayla. Justin did

Trista has said she is bipolar. A condition which can cause one to act
irrationally especially while not medicated. Trista herself has stated
    she was off her meds.

Trista's family and friends have histories of breaking the law.

Trista and her family never wanted Justin to have Ayla. Their words.

Trista and family are very angry at Justin. They have made that very
evident before and after Ayla went missing.

DHHS was involved with Trista. Not Justin. Trista was in rehab for drug
alcohol abuse. She may have felt these were things that would go
    against her.

    When looking at facts:

Who has the most motive here?

After Trista took her polygraph they posted a website on alyareynolds.com. It explained everything about polygraphs, yet (even after after Trista's flub) Becca went to take it on pain medication, muscle relaxants, and depression medication. She couldn't finish it either, but than offered to go off her meds for a day and take it again!

She stays in the background when Trista has interviews. She is always lurking in the hallway, doesn't want want to be approached by any question. This is just all my opinion!

I think she knows what happened to Ayla, but her thinking, hey don't tell me about it. Do what you need to, but leave me out of it.

      Just all my opinion!

  26. I have been back and forth on this....I will say I rule out Jessica having any direct involvement. Reason? She is just too messed up. For someone to pull off a crime they need to be clear headed. Jessica is known to be on drugs and if you saw the video of her releasing those doves with Trista at the walk...Jessica's behavior was way too off. She looked like she could barely concentrate on helping 3 other people hold the dove basket. Her head isnt capable of it so I dismiss any theory that says she took Ayla. She looks like she can barely function. If she had any involvement she would have slipped up somehow and been arrested already IMO.

People on drugs who commit crimes usually get caught and again, just take a look at her at the dove release. Jessica looked like she could barely function. Someone with a clear head is responsible, otherwise this would be open and shut. I personally still feel Justin is responsible but to what extent I am not sure anymore. I fault Trista for many things and I do think if LE felt she was in the clear, they would have said so by now. The fact they haven't ruled her out either is an important fact.

    ReplyDelete
  29. @Bystander
I would have to disagree with you here. The idea of Trista and family being involved is no more ridiculous then most theories. In fact it is even less so. And the fact that many in her family are so mentally unbalanced and on drugs and have in the past been willing to break the laws only cements that chance. Someone who truly believes they are beyond the law, or mentally believes they are in the right, or is influenced by their current drug state might very well be able to maintain their story because they believe in their messed up minds their version of the truth. That is exactly THE type of person it would take to commit and maintain this sort of thing.

    1. Nope, I still maintain it is silly thinking. LE in Maine may not be the best in the land, but I don't doubt that they have covered the tracks of everyone on the maternal side. Actually, another area where I disagree with most on all the blogs is that I don't feel Trista really cared all that much if she lost Ayla. Yes, she applied for custody, but there could by any weird motive for that other than genuine love for the child. Come on...how many of you would choose to visit your felon boyfriend in prison when you could go visit your child instead? How many of you when released from rehab wouldn't want to rush to see your child?

      Delete
    2. I agree Bystander good points. While I agree people on drugs are more likely to riak committing crimes, I have worked with people under the influence and they are not capable of actually pulling it off in the end because their minds are not focused on minute details to prevent them from getting caught. I also dismiss the idea of a large group of people being involved...its hard enough for one person to commit a crime and keep a secret let alone a group of people. At this time, my feeling is that Justin is responsible and it was the cover up of an accident. My second theory would be a drug connection where Ayla was harmed and/or abducted.

"I don't feel Trista really cared all that much if she lost Ayla."

  30. I'm quite uncomfortable with this "drug connection" talk. Tori herself said she had first-hand knowledge that, with the exception of an occasional joint, drugs were not an issue with Justin and his roomies in Portland. And if someone could please direct me to a source that Justin has been charged with ANY criminal/illegal offence in the past, I would be most appreciative.

It is interesting that neighbors of the Dips are not speaking out. I wonder if they ever heard babies screaming, vehicles coming and going at all hours, suspicious activity, loud fights, etc. My guess is no, because I think Ben McCanna would have been permitted to cover such a story.

One side of this family DOES have a history with alcohol/substance abuse. I make no judgement call on that...addiction is vicious and does not equate harming a child. But I'm pretty fed up with this assumption that Justin is up to his neck with his hard drug enterprise.

Trista concerns me. I honestly believe she would not have been granted custody of Ayla over Justin. Why? Her history...bi-polar, addiction, violent episodes, "address unknown" status, DHHS visits, Becca (Ayla's caretaker) on quite the cocktail of drugs herself, Jessica and her issues, a "fiance" doing ten years for arson, a second child to care for, etc.

As far as I know, Justin is clean. He made the move to Waterville to garner family support for Ayla and his situation. He has a girlfriend going to school and work. I believe he failed a poly, and thus I have suspicion. But to not be able to complete a poly for an "undisclosed medical condition" is also suspicious. And Becca was clearly not poly material due to her daily dosages.

I thought the CLIP was pretty damning...but 25K? A typical year's salary? If the CLIP was for, say, 500K, I would cry foul.

All I can say is that if Justin had a record for domestic violence, child abuse, narcotics, assault and battery (I still maintain he should have been charged for his role in the Linnell beat down), robbery, rape, witness tampering, stalking, open and gross lewdness...I would be more comfortable condemning the guy.

There has been (for some time) a protection from abuse order against Linnell, which doesn't allow him to see Gabby. Those things aren't just given out freely for the asking. The article also quoted Linnell as saying he put Lance in a headlock first.

I agree and I believe I read Linnell threatened to harm the Dipietro's in fact there have been threats to burn their home down with Gabby and Elisha in it. Linnell sounds like a pretty violent type. Yes they should not have stopped the car but let's face what guy do you know who would not have?

    8. @Michelle, I agree with what you say - to a point. I believe Justin D. when he described what he did and what he witnessed. I also believe what he didn't see; not because he said so, but because he said he didn't see what happened, and it was confirmed - he did not see what happened. The rest of the assumptions fall on commenters suggesting his motives and his feelings. The other fact that's missing is the time between the first visual encounter and the physical encounter. It isn't incorporated into a written comment. We agree - Justin D. told the 100% truth.

And Michelle, I visit here daily in hopes of finding something that proves me wrong. Most often, I find something that reconfirms what I've seen. You say I have no credibility with you. I would appreciate your reply that points out any discrepancy in my [untoward] statements, such as you have here.

    9. I just don't believe you have the power to talk to Ayla, or to see the things you say you've seen. Since there's no way to prove or disprove your "abilities," you state your scenarios as factual & no one questions it. I dislike that immensely. The burden of proof falls squarely on your shoulders, yet you can't prove it. I'm amazed anyone here gives what you say any consideration, frankly. Call me a doubter.

I've had some pretty kooky spiritual experiences myself, so I'm not a complete doubter; I just doubt the type of things you've claimed have happened to you. Since you seem to attribute your experiences to God, I will say that I don't believe God operates that way. I'm open to changing my mind, however, if God shows me something new.

    10. @Michelle, I agree.

@Pogamen, how can we believe what you say over anyone else's "theories"? We don't know you anymore than we know anyone else on these blogs. Your comments of late seem to differ from your first thoughts. If I interpret them wrong, it is because what you have presented is all I have to go on. You judge us on our speculating, yet we state it as such, "just speculation". If what you have to say is not "speculation", then give us some facts. "Your" experiences with God do not make what you say the truth.

      No disrespect to you intended.

    11. Pogamen...I find your presence here creepy. You speak in riddle, and take delight in such. You offer nothing to the table...just heady rubbish.

Hey...I think it is groovy that you and Jude were there when Ayla was snatched. Take your story to a movie producer, and I look forward to watching in on DVD.

@Michelle - in my mind, pogamen has theories that she believes to be facts. I will consider anyone's ideas. While I can't grasp all that pogamen has said, I do find it possible that she has glimpses of insight that have bearing on things on "this side of the fence."

    14. @Michelle, is there some reason why you took so long to make such a blanketing statement? I am in total agreement with you on your opinion. I've done everything except resort to cussing and capitals to dredge up opposition. Nothing has changed about what I am saying, only the approach I use to say it. [YOUR proof is not going to happen on this blog, in this format.] One topic - Justin D said 'he didn't see anything' that happened between Lance and Justin L. Do you disbelieve him? Quite frankly, Michelle, I DID NOT BELIEVE HIM. However, IT WAS THE TRUTH!

  31. Can someone refresh my memory as to when Justin delivered his bed to his Waterville basement? I thought it was shortly before Ayla disappeared.

If that is true, then was Justin sleeping in the basement prior to his bed getting there. Maybe on a cot?

I am wondering what kind of living set up is in the basement. Is it furnished with a couch, chair, tv, more like a little efficiency apartment? Or is it just a bed for Justin?

Here's why I'm asking. I'm wondering why Ayla was in the basement at all in order to drop some blood.

I dont know what was down in the basement at the time but it normally had a bed or two in two sectioned off areas.(half walls one made like a small bar area) Directly at the bottom of the stairs normally had a couch, tv, endtable or whatnot. There is a "fireplace". Phoebe got it to sit and relax in front of...read a book.It is also where one could go in the winter to have a cigarette away from the kids. At the other end is the laundry area. SO yea there was a living area.I could see taking AYLA down as laundry is done or a movie or a quiet time playing.Justin always had a habit, since he was little, of falling asleep on the couch instead of the bed.

  32. Questions for Selena: Why was Ayla sleeping in the basement alone if Justine was afraid someone would take her? Why was CR's son in bed or same room with them and not Ayla? Finally, would you please explain the incident with the gate. ie. If Lie or Courtney, which ever version is being used checked on Ayla and " noted she was not in the basement" then informed Justine Ayla was not in the basement, then how could Justine knock over the gate? Did Lie or Courtney take the time to close the gate before informing Justine that Ayla was missing? I can't understand someone taking the time to close the gate when a child is missing. It doen't make sense to me and I just can't get past this part of the events.

  33. Ayla was not sleeping in the basement. She was in her own room which is where she normally slept. It was her's and her cousins room and that is where they slept across the hall from her aunt and grandmother when she was home. Courtney's son I imagine slept with her because he did not have his own room to sleep in.

The gate....First,let me say that this is my assumption. I could be wrong. The gate is not where everyone assumes it was.I dont believe. As I have stated before...Justin was an athlete...very quick and very agile.I dont know who found the bed empty but I would imagine that Li checked and didnt find her in the bed. The gate is between the kitchen and the rrest of the house...leaving the kitchen and entryway...and basement stairs well out of reach of little ones. The kids cannot go beyond this gate and get anywheres near the stairs. My thought is when Li yelled down the stairs or whatnot ...Courtney answered her and then told Justin who ran up the stairs...into the kitchen and then jumped the gate to go into the bedroom...bringing it down in his wake.
The thing about the gate? AYLA and Gabby could not get past it...to fall down the stairs....and if they did...there is another door to go through even then. The GATE WAS STILL UP...(My thought) An adult had to step over that gate to go down the hall to get AYLA...I feel that there had to be a light on for Courtney so that she could make her way to the bathroom door that is just this side of AYLA'S bedroom.Li would have had her door shut as the light would keep Gabby up. (very light sleeper)Li did say that in the early morning hours...Gabby did wake.Li hearing nothing but Gabby fussing, snuggled her closer and fell back to sleep.

Where the baby gate normally goes is new information for me. Thank you Selena, I can picture it better now. The gate was too tall for Gabby and Ayla to go over. I assume a tall person could step over it without disturbing it, but I wonder if a shorter adult could do so. So, on one side of the gate was the kitchen, the basement, Justin, Courtney, Ayden and the door to the outside world - and on the other side of the gate was the bathroom, Ayla, Li and Gabby. Is there an entry point from outside on that side as well?

    2. Selena, here's some more untoward stuff, since everybody is sharing... Ayla went to sleep in Gabby's bed. Gabby went to bed with Li, so no need to move Ayla. Gabby got up to go to the bathroom. I believe Li woke up when Gabby returned from the bathroom the first time. Gabby got up later and came face to face with Trista and Jess, Gabby saying she forgot to flush. She flushed the toilet and went back to look at her mom, then turned around and went to her own bed to go back to sleep. Ayla was not there.

    1. Selena doesn't know that either. She says throughout her entire post that it is her assumptions, feelings and thoughts and that she could be wrong. So don't base your theory on any of it being truths. She's clearly said that she simply doesn't ask anything of her family about anything of substance relating to Ayla's disappearance.

Frankly, that she has said that so many times (she doesn't ask questions) speaks volumes to me.

I have seen Selena say many times " I don't know I will ask Phoebe or so and so... Maybe there have been times she has said she would not ask a certain question or something idk but you are mistaken she does ask questions of her family. And clearly they answer if they feel it is something they feel it is okay to share with the public but I can also understand some things them not feeling that they are sure the public should know. For example the complete layout to their home or the exact events of the evening. There are just some things that they may feel that LE may need preserved to later interrogate a suspect.

It speaks volumes to me as well, but I have a feeling you & I haven't reached the same conclusion.

Selena has explained that she does have answwrs to many questions, but it is not her place to answer some of those questions. She feels it is best to let the family and or LE answer certain questions. I feel that is a wise decision on her part.
Actually Selena has provided a wealth of information and insight into the DiPietro family.

    4. How would anyone feel if their loved one was missing, and they had to be questioned by countless investigators, the public, and then THEIR OWN FAMILY?

Selena is doing what most NORMAL people would do---by not interrogating her family for the purpose of divulging that information on a damn blog.

Rocket science? No, it's common sense.

  36. Thank you also Selena for that insight into the babygate.I was under the assumption the gate was either in the doorway of the girls room, or in the doorway of the cellar.
Now having cleared that up..can you tell us which door (they believe) the kidnapper came thru? The side door that i believe leads to the kitchen, or the front door? Having heard the placement of the gate..i would think that would be one more obstacle for the kidnapper to go over if they entered from the kitchen door. So can i assume the front door has more of a direct route to Gabbys room?
The baby gate has always been a big question mark for me, and i appreciate you clearing that up! thank you!
