I hear you knocking...

I just have been too busy to open the door!

My interest in this case has not faded. I still search daily for any sort of update. I still follow along on message boards, and I still read other blogs. I log on here occasionally to check for comments awaiting moderation, and I still read emails as they come in.

I do have little people who depend on me for everything, a spouse, a home, extended family, a JOB, and other obligations that have taken up about 90% of my time. In the interest of maintaining my sanity (I see the jokes and insults coming), I have to take a breather for myself at times. I have not been away due to anything negative going on in my life; in fact, things have been great! With holidays and sports and school activities, I've just been everywhere!

To set the record straight, I am NOT a law student. I have not been a student in quite a while, so any assertion that I'm writing research papers or conducting research of any kind is absurd. I am NOT a practicing attorney, so any insinuation that I'm Jose Baez-ing you all is stupid as well. I thought you guys had all figured out who I am? If you truly had, these things would not even be in question.

I am still very much interested in this case, and I still think that Ayla will come home ALIVE. Nothing has proven me wrong thus far, so until there is rock solid evidence, I will remain steadfast in my position.

I hope like hell that I can get back to doing this blog as often as I had been. Christmas break is approaching, so hopefully then I can catch up. Sadly, the month of December will also be the one year mark---a milestone I never saw us approaching.

Where is Ayla???

  1. Well I am glad the site didn't get abandoned. I agree I am still looking for an alive Ayla.

  2. I'm glad you took the fun out of the rumor starting at U4A. It's funny how they proclaim to take the "high ground," but to them, that means claiming to be superior while slinging mud. Hypocrites.

I'm glad you have a life and don't neglect it. Endless speculating won't help anyone but can sure lead to neglecting important parts of living.

I'm sure that managing a blog takes a lot of effort, time, and energy. Therefore I'm thankful for whatever time you can manage.

  6. Obscure thanks for the updated post. And for letting people know you are still here. People need to understand that life does not stop. It keeps moving. It is not fair to the people around you. Your children and family. Some of us do understand that. Thanks for all you have done and do. And I agree until and unless there is rock solid evidence I will hold hope for Ayla and I believe she can and will come home. And time is not evidence. Time does not define how lost something becomes.

    1. Again I have to agree I tell people all the time to open their eyes and hold a little hope she's alive but for some reason people in some "places" insist on her demise....It's saddening that no one has hope.

  8. Can I just say how ridiculous it is how the rumors started flying again this time about Obscure being in trouble and this blog being abandoned. Sadly there is no news about Ayla and not a lot left to discuss these days. The other blog is just reaching for something to talk about. Is that enough verification for you hickorydickory?

  9. I never imagined we would reach the (almost) one year mark and Ayla not be found. It's heartbreaking. I too believe she is alive... nothing has been proven to me to make me believe otherwise. I pray that she is safe and warm, wherever she is, and that she is found soon. I can't help feeling we (ALL of us) have failed her... failed Lisa, failed Sky, failed Elizabeth and Lyric and all the missing children. So many people see images of these missing kids and more on their newsfeed, on twitter, etc and just skim past their faces, not caring to read their stories. It's extremely disheartening that a child can be missing and so few people care. It's a horrible thought to know that if your own child went missing, so many people would glance at his/her picture without any other concern. It's horrible that we can't do more for these kids, and that these people (whether family or strangers!) get away with taking a child from their home. The best Christmas miracle would be for so many of these children to find their ways back home. I'll keep praying for that until they do.

    1. LC... "I can't help feeling we (ALL of us) have failed her... failed Lisa, failed Sky, failed Elizabeth and Lyric and all the missing children."

I can't help but feel that we haven't failed the missing people at all. We keep their names out there, we keep their faces and their stories going.

If anyone has failed these missing loved ones, it is the perpetrators of the crimes against them. They have failed as human beings. The perpetrators of the crimes against children, like Ayla, Lisa, Sky, etc. are the failures. They have lied and are continuing to lie about their deeds and they have feeling in regards to the thousands of people who they have hurt, while they go about their daily lives knowing exactly where the missing children are. The perps are life failures, not the people who are trying to find and keep the stories alive.

The best Christmas miracle would be for the adults who know what happened to the missing children, to step up to the plate and admit their actions and bring these missing children home. They are out there and they know the answers we all seek and they know we are seeking the answers. Yet they continue to hide the truth. - KJ

    2. Yeah, the trolls were a tad out of control. They were impersonating others and abusing people. I for one am glad to see this blog is not down for the count. I find most of the comments here thought provoking. The open-mindedness of the admins and most of the commentors is refreshing after the stepfordness of the other blog. Keep on keeping on Obscure!!!

Why do you keep bringing this up? Trista attended both doctor visits with Justin. She heard his excuse or story of how Ayla was injured MULTIPLE times. She knows exactly what happened. And what Justin has SAID happened. Why are you asking us? Or even Justin? ASK TRISTA. If he was constantly changing his story back then, WHY DIDN’T TRISTA TAKE AYLA AWAY RIGHT THEN?

Hickory Trista said Justin wouldn’t let her take Ayla home from the doctor’s office.

November 14th, 2011 approx. 10am: Justin picked Trista up at Jessica’s in Lewiston and drove her
and Ayla to an Orthopedic Doctor in Portland. After the examination Trista asked Justin if Ayla could
spend the night with her and was told she was not allowed to have her. When asked why Justin
replied,” Because I’m not going to have you telling me what to do”.

What does that have to do with anything? She was in the doctors office with Justin while he lied to the doctor. If his story was changing, she could have spoke up and DEMANDED the doctor call CPS immediately. I would NOT have left that doctor’s office without my daughter, especially if her father were changing his story.

Hickory I don’t think Trista thought she could legally take Ayla from Justin. I also think she wouldn’t have wanted to get into a physical fight with Justin and risk Ayla possibly getting another arm broken or worse.

What? She thought Justin might hit her in front of the doctor? Is that the excuse you are giving me? Bullshit! I would have called the police right then and let them decide. It would have been the perfect time, with many witnesses to his lies! Don’t give me that she was afraid for Ayla bullshit either, because that is more reason to call CPS while at the doctors office. It certainly would have been during their office hours wouldn’t it? Remember, this was after rehab, not before. Why wasn’t her head clear enough to figure this shit out?

Also, John is trying to insinuate that Ayla’s arm was broken for two weeks before she was given medical treatment. If the class ended on Oct. 26, that would have been right around the time Trista was getting the run around by DHHS regarding Justin returning Ayla, to which she eventually agreed provided she had regular visits. I would imagine that would have been around Oct. 26. Are you telling me that after she agreed to regular visits, she didn’t see her daughter until November 14, for her first ortho doctor’s appointment? Because I thought she visited with Ayla on November 3? Wouldn’t she have noticed if Ayla were injured?

      WTF?????

    5. Looking...I have to agree with most of what Hickory says here. While I don't believe Trista is the one who "disappeared" Ayla I can't ignore her behavior/judgement and I question it. I too don't understand why, if she thought Ayla was consistently being hurt under Justin's watch, she didn't do more to protect her. If she truly felt Justin might have caused the arm break and didn't feel comfortable stating that in front of him, she could have called the dr.'s office afterwards and voiced her concerns. I don't get her inaction at all.

  18. I would like to read the thoughts and opinions of others concerning the new gossip over at U4A:

“I have been informed by Trista, that Derek was in fact called before the 911 calls".

I think what amazes me most (and I don't know why...considering the mindst) is that of the 10 different commenters so far, no one questioned the accuracy of this. Not one question about who was this confirmed to by Trista. Nor where did Trista come by this info...if true.
The only ones who could possibly know this for sure are Justin & LE.

My thoughts...I'd have to know the answer to those 2 questions, speciffically, where Trista got this info, before I could even begin to consider it accurate.

    1. They don't question because they will be booted off the island. Personally I this it's bs....they are taking Trista at her word when NONE of it has been verified by LE. I think the speculation over there has Derek and Justin hanging from the nearest tree and Trista sitting there with her Halo on.....ridiculous!

    2. Well said, Oak...

I can't say I believe Trista is involved, but I CAN say that MSP hasn't ruled her out. Nor anyone. When McCausland stands up to the mike, officially rules out Trista as a person of interest, I'll feel better about not barking up that tree.

An open mind is a terrible thing to waste. Glad you have one, and are exercising and preserving it as well!

For some reason I can't reply to the LC/MIM thread above - KJ, I agree that it is the perpetrators of these crimes that have failed these children - it is also anyone "in the know" - and with some measure of responsibility falling on the families and LE - it is not the failure of the general public. Those that have most deeply failed these victims have also failed themselves. They may have fooled LE, but they cannot fool themselves. They will live with it, and bear the consequences in one form or another, for the rest of their lives.
